Miley Cyrus Prepares for Her First Tattoo: Hannah Montana Gets Ink?

viernes, 30 de mayo de 2008 |

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has had her share of scandals this year from racy photos that have leaked online that have showed the teen starlet in some embarrassing situations to the Vanity Fair photo scandal that brought an apology and all sorts of excuses from Team Cyrus.

But In Touch Weekly notes in a report this week that it turns out the Cyrus clan condones rebel behavior. Well, at least when it comes to getting inked. With two full sleeves at 19, Miley's brother Trace expects his sister, now 15, to get some permanent body art on her 18th birthday.

"She loves my tattoos," he told In Touch before hitting the stage with his band, Metro Station, at Z100's Zootopia in East Rutherford, N.J., on May 17. "My mother has tattoos, too. I could totally see my mom going with Miley to get her first one. She took me!"

Trace added that many of his markings have special family significance. "This one says 'Mom' and this one is a line from my dad's song 'Hey Daddy,'" he said, pointing to his arm. Trace dismisses the negative attention on Miley, adding that his advice for her is to "just have fun."

Miley Cyrus’s Racy Internet Photos: Round Three

domingo, 25 de mayo de 2008 |

So let’s make this clear. Even though Miley Cyrus has already issued a statement about her regrettable photos, should that same apology apply to pics still coming out?

Surprisingly, someone out there has been holding back on the internet community. While I thought we’d seen everything Cyrus-related by now, apparently there is a shoebox full of self-portraits still waiting to be released. Unfortunately, the latest two photos to hit the web really don’t show any originality.

C’mon, Miley. You must have had a thousand publicity photos taken of you by now. Don’t you have any more original poses in your repertoire? How many ways can you show off your underwear?

Miley Cyrus Leads Kids Choice Awards

|

Miley Cyrus won last year's favorite TV star award but Beyonce captured the favorite singer trophy.

Miley Cyrus is the front-runner in the 21st annual Kids Choice Awards with nominations for favorite singer and favorite actress.

Cyrus, whose television series "Hannah Montana" was also nominated for favorite show, was scheduled to perform at the awards program, singing "Girl's Night Out" from her hit album "Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus."

Cyrus won last year's favorite TV star award but Beyonce captured the favorite singer trophy. The two were nominated again this year, along with Fergie and Alicia Keys.

Competing against Cyrus for the favorite TV actress award were Emma Roberts of " Unfabulous," Jamie Lynn Spears of " Zoey 101" and Raven- Symone of "That's So Raven."

The 90-minute will broadcast from UCLA's Pauley Pavilion before a large audience of 10,000 mostly teen and preteen fans.

The program, which puts as much emphasis on a rollicking good time as handing out awards, is hosted this year by Jack Black. At some point Black and other celebrities were expected to be doused in Nickelodeon's trademark green slime and there was likely to be an acrobatic stunt performed involving slime, although the show's independent producers were keeping quiet on what was planned. In some years celebrities also take part in burping contests.

Although the show is as much about fun as awards, it has drawn a huge celebrity turnout in recent years. Among those scheduled to participate were Harrison Ford, Hayden Panettiere, Amy Poehler, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ryan Seacrest. The Jonas Brothers Band, in Florida to promote a forthcoming album and tour, said Friday they were flying home for the event.

"We're nominated for an award," Nick Jonas said proudly. It was for favorite music group.

The film " Shrek The Third" had a leading four nominations, including one for favorite animated movie. The other three were for favorite voice from an animated movie and were for Mike Meyers as Shrek, Cameron Diaz as his wife, Fiona, and Eddie Murphy as Shrek's loyal sidekick, Donkey. The fourth went to Jerry Seinfeld for "Bee Movie."

Nearly 60 million ballots had been cast from votes at Nickelodeon's Web site, breaking last year's record of 40 million.

Miley Cyrus prepares to "Breakout" with new album

jueves, 22 de mayo de 2008 |

"Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus will release the first full-length album under her own name on July 22.

"Breakout" (Disney's Hollywood Records) comes on the heels of two albums tied to her title role as the moonlighting rock star in the smash Disney Channel series: "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert" is currently at No. 33 on the Billboard 200, and former chart-topper "Hannah Montana 2 (Soundtrack)/Meet Miley Cyrus" at No. 65.

The first single from the new album, "7 Things," was one of the most added at U.S. top 40 radio outlets last week; it is also enjoying some airplay at adult top 40 stations.

Cyrus, 15, is credited as a co-writer on the track, in which she takes aim at a hurtful ex who won't provide a "sincere apology." "And when you mean it, I'll believe it / If you text it, I'll delete it," Cyrus sings.

It was not known if Annie Leibovitz would shoot the album's cover photo. The celebrity photographer's portrait of a bare-backed Cyrus for the latest issue of Vanity Fair upset Cyrus and stirred a brouhaha about the sexualization of young girls.

Miley Cyrus at centre of candy controversy

martes, 20 de mayo de 2008 |

Miley Cyrus has become the focus of yet another controversy, after a photo agency filed suit against her Disney bosses for copyright infringement in relation to a range of Hannah Montana - branded candies - which feature her face on the packaging.

Bosses at Oklahoma-based company Glamour Shots claim the Hannah Montana Glamour Shots Candy, placed on Disney store shelves, misleads buyers into believing the photo agency made the treats.

The candy is packaged in a small picture frame with Cyrus featured inside.

In court documents obtained by website TMZ.com, Glamour Shots executives have also accused Disney of false advertising and unfair competition, and are requesting the case to go to trial to determine damages.

A spokesperson for Disney declined to comment on the suit. Cyrus, 15, has become the subject of various debates since her pop star image was tarnished by the release of 'sexy' images from a controversial photoshoot with Annie Leibovitz for June's edition of Vanity Fair magazine.

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus accused of stealing song

jueves, 15 de mayo de 2008 |

It seems that Miley Cyrus is fast becoming the next Lindsay Lohan, as she seems to move from one scandal to another, first we had the whole Vanity Fair photographs scandal now it seems as if the Hannah Montana is stealing someone’s song. It seems that Los Angeles band Lustra are not happy with the young teen as they claim that her song Rockstar is in fact a carbon copy of their hit ‘Scotty Doesn’t Know’ which featured on the ‘Eurotrip’ soundtrack.

Lustra are now asking Cyrus fans who like her Rockstar song to check out the original version of the song on their MySpace.com web page. Lustra did not know about Miley Cyrus stealing their song until their fans listened to both songs and all agreed that there are similarities between the songs and that both tunes are virtually the same apart from having different lyrics. Nick Cloutman the lead guitarist from the band has said although we are very flattered that Ms. Cyrus took this route, we would have preferred some credit.” The band is now thinking about what they should do one solution that spokesman for Lustra has said the immediate solution is to minimize leaks, and keep all future recordings in a vault, under extreme security.” Chris Baird who is the lead singer from the band has added “If Hannah Montana wants us now, who is next? The Jonas Brothers?

One thing that did make me laugh is what Baird added next “That said, if (Vanity Fair photographer) Annie Liebovitz is interested in photographing us nearly nude we are certainly open to it and we look forward to her call.”

Hugh Hefner invites Miley Cyrus to pose for Playboy

sábado, 10 de mayo de 2008 |

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has been given an offer by Playboy boss Hugh Hefner to pose naked for the magazine, once she turns 18.

Hefner offered Cyrus, who had recently been in the limelight for posing topless for Vanity Fair, the chance to strip off completely for his legendary men’s magazine, but only when she reaches the legal age.

When the controversial Annie Leibovitz photos of her posing bare backed, wrapped only in a satin sheet emerged online, there was a lot of outrage, compelling the singer/actress to issue an apology.

Hefner, who believes that the whole incident has been blown out of proportion, stated that Cyrus would be “welcomed in the magazine”, and also slammed the uproar surrounding her poses for Vanity Fair.

“I think to make such a big to do over something as innocent as those photos, I think is a reflection on how schizophrenic America is about sexuality,” The Sun quoted Hefner as saying.

Miley Cyrus Hit By Hannah Montana Ratings Slide

jueves, 8 de mayo de 2008 |

It's emerged that viewing figures for Miley Cyrus' TV show Hannah Montana are down following the furore over its star's suggestive Vanity Fair Photo shoot.

Sunday’s brand spanking new episode of the Disney Channel hit saw a 14% decline in audience from the previous fresh episode, which aired before the 'nude scandal' broke, according to the Nielsen Company.

However, longterm figures suggest that Miley fever was on the wane even before the recent hubub - Sunday's audience was down 26% compared with the first original show of the year, which aired in January.

Hannah Montana has now been replaced as Disney’s top-rated show by Wizards of Waverly Place, which stars Selena Gomez who has previously appeared on Hannah, reports the New York Daily News.

However, Disney president and chief executive officer, Bob Iger, is putting on a brave face about Miley's future.

He said yesterday, "With a new season of shows coming up, a new record in July and a theatrical film next year, the 'Hannah Montana'/Miley Cyrus franchise is incredibly robust."

Miley Cyrus thanks fans for support

|

Miley Cyrus has thanked her fans for their support over the Vanity Fair photo scandal.

The 15-year-old singer - who appears on the cover of the current issue of the US magazine draped in nothing but a sheet - praised everyone who has stuck by her during a Disney Channel Games concert in Florida at the weekend.

After spotting a fan holding a placard which read, 'I'm praying for you', Miley told the crowd: "I can't be more appreciative of that."

Meanwhile, Justin Timberlake has defended Miley's decision to pose for the provocative shoot.

He said: "Of course they're going to pick on a wholesome young female American at the first sign of anything. It's the way the world is. I'm going to make 'Leave Miley Alone' T-shirts."

Last week, Miley issued a statement apologising for the controversial pictures, which were taken by world famous photographer Annie Leibovitz.

She said: 'I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologise to my fans who I care so deeply about.'

Hillary Clinton Weighs In On Miley Cyrus Photo Controversy

lunes, 5 de mayo de 2008 |

Tomorrow are the crucial Indiana and North Carolina primaries that could make or break Hillary Clinton’s campaign. But today, in an Access Exclusive, she tackles the tough ones, like the Miley Cyrus photo controversy.

“From everything I’ve heard she’s a great kid and obviously very talented, but I think we need to do more to preserve our kids’ childhood,” Clinton said.

The presidential hopeful said she feels it is the parents’ responsibility to protect a child.

“They grow up so fast and [there are] so many influences coming from all directions these days,” Clinton said. “I think it’s important that all of us as parents draw some lines here.”

For the mother of a young woman, Clinton can relate to dealing with the tough topics. She sees the Miley mess as an opportunity to teach.

“As they’re teens you have to be ready to talk to them. Be ready for those teachable moments — [they] don’t always come when you want them to,” she said.

In related news, with the primaries just hours away, Clinton will attempt to appeal to young fans before tomorrow’s big vote, via an appearance on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” presenting a special top ten.

“It’s about 10 things I love about about America,” she said. “It’s always funny. It’s always a lot of fun. I really enjoy being on Dave’s show.”

But while Clinton appreciates the importance of pop culture in this election, she does have a confession about her recent movie-going.

“I love to go to movies with my husband,” she said. “[I] did see a movie about a month, month and a half ago and I’m trying to remember what it was because I fell asleep. Isn’t that terrible?”

Miley Cyrus performs at Disney but doesn't address photo

domingo, 4 de mayo de 2008 |

Miley Cyrus returned to the stage for a concert in Orlando, Fla., but did not say anything about the recent controversy over her Vanity Fair portrait.

The 15-year-old star of Hannah Montana performed several songs at the Saturday concert that will be included in the Disney Channel Games series on the Disney Channel.

Cyrus didn't attend Friday's red-carpet party for the games at Disney's Epcot Center, where she would have faced questions from the media.

Cyrus has said she was embarrassed by the photo, which shows her wrapped in a sheet with her back exposed.

She spotted a sign in the crowd Saturday that said "Miley I'm praying for you," and she responded: "I can't be more appreciative of that."

Saturday's concert also featured performances by the Jonas Brothers and the Cheetah Girls.
